Heartell staff recipe share: Erin's Fresh Berry Mojitos

Rachel Kroh July 16, 2023

This summer, as the Indiana sunshine pours in through the open door of our studio, the Heartell team has made a delicious decision. We want to tantalize your taste buds and share some of our treasured recipes with you! And what better way to kick things off than with a delightful summer drink? Lucky for us, our printer extraordinaire, Production Manager Erin Duddy, happens to also be a professional bartender. She's starting our series with a fresh twist on a classic, refreshing Mojito that captures the essence of summer.

Cheers to good times and great company – let the recipe adventure begin! Enjoy!

P.S. Erin wanted me to tell you this recipe works great even without the booze! You can use honey simple to create a lighter sparkling limeade – just muddle your honey simple, lime juice/wedges, and mint together with ice, then top off with soda and whatever fruit you'd like to garnish with. Fruit purees and syrups can also be used if you're wanting a more fruity flavor.

Fresh Berry Mojitos. You'll need: 2 oz white rum, 1 oz fresh lime juice, 2 teaspoons sugar, all the mint (add mint until you think you're messing it up), berries of your choice, and soda water.

Muddle the mint sprigs with the berries, lime juice, and sugar. Pour your rum in and top it with soda water. Serve it over ice and slap an additional mint leaf (activate those oils!) for garnish.

Enjoy!
