The Mother Figure 7-Day Card Writing Challenge: May 5-11, 2024

I'm writing to invite you to join me next week for another 7-day card writing challenge.

Mother's Day is a complicated holiday for me, as I know it is for many of you. I still write letters to my mom occasionally but since I can't send her a card in the mail, I'm going to focus this year on the many mother-figures in my life who have been parenting me in large and small ways over the last few years since my mom died. I also plan to write to my mom friends: my peers in this most challenging of unpaid careers who I know can always use an extra vote of confidence.

Perhaps there are people in your life who have mothered you, even if they don't know themselves that way? Are there people you'd like to strengthen your bond with by writing to them unexpectedly?
